About the event

In observance of Anthracite Heritage Month, the Plymouth Historical Society will present an in depth program on the 1889 Powell Squib Factory Explosion that took the life of 10 workers, plus 15 yr old Jane Ann Thomas who was seeking employment. The deaths of the young female workers and their supervisor shocked the coal mining town of Plymouth and surrounding communities. .... Musical entertainment by local  musician Don Shappelle....As always, this is a FREE event with refreshments courtesy of the PHS. Plenty of parking on Shawnee Ave and the Plymouth Municpal Building / WVW parking lot.
